10 years on, Brand Pulsar, as we know it today has an unparalleled Indian fan base. The Indian biking enthusiast buying into the Pulsar segment has a bigger pocket, and far more options. The advent of Brand Pulsar pioneered the democratization of performance biking, offering affordable motorcycles which were not mere commuters. So does the new Pulsar sustain its relevance as strongly as it did ten years back and throughout the course of its existence. So the big question that I ask myself as I begin writing this review is, whether the new Pulsar does justice to the to its celebrated lineage. Back in 2001, the Pulsar twins started a revolution of sorts. Sounds like a whale of a task, but it was eventually the team behind Project Pulsar which made it the marvel that it is. There’s no reason why we should doubt their ability to recreate the magic all over again....

The detection of pulsar PSR J1719-1438 was made using the 64-metre radio telescope in Parkes, Australia, and confirmed with the Lovell radio telescope in the UK and one of the Keck telescopes on Hawaii. By analysing the modulations of the pulses the astronomers learned that the companion completes one circuit around the pulsar in just two hours and ten minutes, and that the distance between the two objects is 600,000 kilometres. A small planet-sized object made of solid diamond has been found orbiting a pulsar 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Serpens. The object must also be no more than 60,000 kilometres wide – or else it would be ripped apart by the pulsar's gravity – but has a Jupiter-like mass. The astronomers, from Australia, Germany, Italy, the UK and USA, noticed that the arrival times of the pulses were systematically modulated, suggesting the gravitational pull of a small companion object, such as a planet.
